29 Hours of no sleep

Hour 29 of no sleep, and the caffeine awake feeling is starting to hit, I seemed to catch a second wind around 11 but then that vanished 45 min later. Now I have the empty stomach feeling of too much caffeine, and that gross feeling knowing that the only thing keeping you up is all the chemicals you just pounded in your body,

I have this sick hobby of listening to really depressing music when I am doing engineering work, I don’t know why but I just sit hear and listen to the music and feel the weight of everything just build and build as I sit in my chair trying to figure out drainage flow, and how the vertical curve for the road I am working on is going to work.

Top 5 songs listened to at work,

5. In the sun Joseph Arthur
4. Last Goodbye Jeff Buckley
3. Winter Joshua Radin
2. What if You Joshua Radin
1. Hide and Seek Imogen Heap

BONUS TRACK
Sideways Citizen Cope

O LOVING SLEEP!

Keeping the Caffeine buzz.

Well I did not sleep last night, and when i say i did not sleep i mean i have been up for 24 hours and going! so the word of the day is going to be caffeine. But I need to approach this in a different manner, rather then slamming down the 4 shots in my morning Carmel macchiato, im going to try and keep a nice steady run of caffeine for the entire day, let’s see how well this works!

Off my chest

Life is good, work is good, friends are good, and I am taking care of everything that needs to be taken care of. Just seems that something is missing.

Sitting in my cave of a room which I do from time to time when I do not feel like being social, (which happens more often then not) I try to be inspired. I think of all the things that I want to write and read and the thoughts and ideas that I want to convey, and when I put that pen in my hand (old school I know) down on paper nothing comes out. Drivel and crap come out of the tip of my pen.

I don’t know what it is but as of late I have not had the inspiration and the drive that used to consume me, the insane energy that pushed me through life to try everything to write everything.

Its not just writing it’s my triathlon as well, I am having a hard time motivating myself to go and train.

I am sure things will get better soon.

I feel like a shell that’s insides have rotted away, and is now wandering around trying to find a way to fill itself again.

Finding a place to write

Does anyone have any suggestions? When I was at school it was easy there was an entire campus an entire place that I could just sit down for hours on end and no one would bother me, big open spaces with plenty of people walking around to make you concentrate. Now that I am in the real world I do not know where to go. Starbucks as usual is great but I do not have 5 bucks to throw down every time I want to go write, soon enough I will but not right now. I can’t write in my room there are to many distractions, now that it is getting nicer out I could go into DC and sit at the museums and write but that takes time.

So anyone with any suggestions just let me know. www.ironmanbob@gmail.com

XP ON MAC!!!!

XP RUNNING ON A MAC

This is a big deal because Mac has changed over to the new Intel chips which, windows is designed to run on. Now window’s has run on Mac’s before but it was very hard to do and was very slow, jumpy and you really could not load everything on it. Because of the new Intel chip you can run xp full speed and fully operational (minus a couple of drivers that are coming soon).

I know what you are saying, ok bob, big freaking deal, and well this is a big deal. I have wanted to get a Mac for a while, but as I am a pseudo gamer I have not gotten a Mac because I have too many windows based programs that I would not be able to run on the Mac OS. Now I can get the cool looking Mac and have people think that I am a consumer whore on the outside, (which lets face it I am) and be able to have my preciously flawed and monopolized windows running on the inside. It’s like having a porch body and engine but the interior is shag carpeting! But I love it still, check this story out I think it might interest some of you.

Podcasts

I have become obsessed with podcasts. If you do not know what these are then I shall explain. They are radio shows for your Mp3 player. This started about 2 years ago when people just uploaded audio clips to their websites for others to listen to but because of the blogging boom and the entire Itunes following, podcasts have exploded in the past 5 months into mythical proportions.

I listen to about 30 podcasts, in fact I have almost stopped listening to music in general and just started listening to people talk. Now there are several types of podcasts. There are the short 1-10 minute updated daily podcasts these are usually news like CNN, NPR, Rocket boom and Cnet. Then you have your weekly podcasts which very in length from about 20-70 min in length. These are on different subjects such as technology, comedy, and triathlons.

If you have not looked these up and you have an Ipod I highly suggest you check them out on Itunes if you do not have an Ipod if you go to any news sight and search their sight for podcasts you will probably find an mp3 format audio file that is the same thing.

Enjoy
